Post-Graduation Goals

The time that I spent as a graduate student in the MA program at Auburn consisted not only of education through the seminar format or the gaining of teaching experience through practice and practicum, but also of discovering my own ideas about how I hoped to use the skills that I had honed once I was finished. Though I came into the program with thoughts of moving forward into a Ph.D program, I eventually realized that my real hope was to write professionally as a film critic. 

Though this may be my end-goal, my immediate goal is to work at the community college or junior college level as an instructor to put those skills to use as well. I plan to use this time not only to utilize my teaching ideology, but also to further practice and construct my talents as a writer, a thinker, and an analyst while working toward my ultimate goal of writing professionally.

In many ways, this makes for a perfect amalgamation of what I worked on while I was in the program while also moving forward with the pivot that I discovered meanwhile.
